Hair Poetic's Mission

Welcome to HairPoetic, this blog was created because I truly want to make something unique for the hairstylist community and make a difference. I’m hoping to achieve that by creating a space where other beauty industry professionals, like myself, can learn how to recognize their potential and become the best that they can be.

I went to beauty school with so much excitement and eagerness to learn. With every new thing I learned in class, I wanted to learn how to be the best, how to be the most successful. I was passionate about fulfilling my potential in every way possible. But when it was time to get out there in the world, I felt like someone had given me an oyster and when I opened it, there was no pearl!

This may sound like I wasn’t very grateful for the opportunities I had been given. Not at all! I was very thankful for all I had learned, but I didn’t know what to do with myself, or how to move forward with my new and exciting career.

Since then I’ve realized something very important: you have to cultivate your own pearl. You have to understand that, personally and professionally, you are forever in a learning pattern, dedicated to adding luster and polish to your potential for success.

We create our own destinies in this industry. We have a unique opportunity to grow in our craft, by expanding our knowledge through education. All stylists have incredible potential, but a lot of us don’t know how to develop it. Without study and support, we cannot grow and change. It is not easy, but nothing that comes easy is ever worth it. We have to keep learning and practicing so that we get better, and in return we increase our value, not only to ourselves but to our clients as well. And as we build reputations, we build clientele and greater income potential.

My ultimate goal is to help you learn to cultivate your pearl—and gather more pearls (of wisdom!).
